yikes it's September

Noah turned two in July and has begun spitting out sentences and declarations. He loves snakes, Mickey Mouse (he said 'Meeska, Mouska, Mickey Mouse' yesterday). He got a big wheel for his birthday but cannot make the pedals work so he scoots. This is great EXCEPT when he wants to go around the block and he stops every 4th scoot to press a button on the bike that makes cool noises, and it's 95 degrees and I am saying "Go,go,go,go,go" the whole time. Yesterday we made it 1/3 of the way around the block before I gave up (took us 30 minutes), but the time we got back to the house the chicken I had put on low was overdone and so was I.

Took the 3 amigos (Noah and the twins) to Publix yesterday, decided to put the twins in the stroller and let Noah walk. The entire time I am in the store I am thinking 'everyone is looking at us (they were) and I have to look like a calm, together mom (possibly achieved)' but it is pretty obvious we arent your average crew. Noah decided yesterday that rubbing noses with William is hilarious, William thinks he is nuts.

Put William down for a nap with a binkie, couldnt find the binkie when he woke up, looked behind the crib, found 3 in the same spot.

I am working on creating art again, now I need to sell it :)

Summer

I got reminded to share here...Thanks B

So my friend that I shared about with the cancer died May 31st, on the anniversary of my grandfather's passing. I got to see her on the Friday before she passed and I got to tell her that she was my angel. There was a beautiful memorial for her. I am happy she is not suffering anymore but I know that it hasn't fully hit me yet.

Noah is doing great. He is talking SO much. He loves saying "Here I come/am" and he loves helicopters, airplanes and cars. Such a boy. He is getting so big and I am so blessed to watch him grow daily.he has adapted well to being home with me and the twins. We have a playdate daily that keeps him with other toddlers. He is crazy about his brothers and is happy, active and joyous. I cannot believe he turns 2 in like 2 weeks!

The twins are getting bigger too! I am trying not to stress about how i am going to manage 3 mobile kids, I know other mothers have done it :)

I am bummed we dont have a minivan yet to transport everyone and go on adventures. I live at B's house and it can be isolating. The friends who said they would visit, frankly haven't, so I get most of my adult interaction time from OA meetings. July 4th will be 6 years off sugar for me!

All for now

I hate cancer

Right at this moment ovarian cancer is killing my friend. What did she do? She did everything the doctors said to do and endured 6 months of the highest doses of chemo, it didnt work. Cancer does not discriminate, or else it would not be She who is suffering right now. Here is a woman who has inspired so many of her friends to get real with who we are and to share the crappy parts of life with laughter. My mom said my friend will handle this better than all who she is leaving behind. This is really true. She once said something along the lines of not being afraid to die because she could meet the one who saved her life. I selfishly dont know what I am going to do without her. She is my go-to for all my stepmom drama, she is my recovery guru, and most of all she is my friend. She told me recently that people leave our lives so that room can be made for new people to come in. I dont want a new person, I want a lightning bolt to come out of the sky and heal her. She is going into hospice today. I am going to go see her in the next two days and I am terrified. I dont want this to be real and it is going to be real once I see her. Why cant this happen to some degenerate violent creep I see on the news every night? Why does it have to happen to her? I hope I find out someday, but today I am sad and mad.

I think I need to get a life.

Wedding Necklace

I love the necklace I wore for my wedding and it was hand crafted by Kelly Warren, my former Supervisor. I dont know why she doesnt sell FULL time as her pieces are beautiful and she has recently delve into photos which are amazing, check her out!

and...

Of course I bumped into a former student on my walk today who I hardly recognized (he put on the Freshman 15) and he said 'I didn't know you lived in my neighborhood" and I told him I was a Nanny (read 2 posts below) and he said "as a Summer job?" and I said "No, as my job job."

Aghhh it's real

Not so uncomplicated?

So when I left my nanny gig yesterday there was a cop car in front of our new buddies house and this morning there was a CRIME SCENE VAN and there has been no sign of the sitter or the boys today.............

It's May already?!?

So here I am in week 5? of nannyhood. Everyone is napping and it is sunny outside. Lovely.

We went to a kids birthday party two weeks back and all of the sudden during the party it hit me...someone may ask me what I do for a living and I dont really have a canned answer yet. My goal was to stay home with Noah and God blessed me with this ability....with a twist. So far so good, but I would really like to have my own car and be able to get us all out of the house. I have visions of Library and park trips. Right now we go out on the patio and also we go for walks (almost daily) which require a double stroller and a front baby backpack (and stamina). We have be-friended the neighbors, a babysitter and the two boys she watches. Noah seems to like them and she is my only adult contact during the day, so i can be choosy at this point. She is twenty something and...uncomplicated...is the nicest way i can think to describe her. Noah likes her so she must be ok.

Noah is repeating everything, so no more cursing...dammit

The twins are changing daily and still so different from one another. William is calm and chatty, Emily wants all eyes on her (as it should be...she is the princess of the house). William loves his binkie, Emily loves to be held. Both think my singing and dancing are funny.

Brian and I got away this weekend which feels much calmer since I see Noah everyday all day now. We had a nice time just being together and have planned to have a tv free night once a week (Just not FRINGE night).

I am tanner, calmer and more confident in my mommy abilities...yay new life

The New Chapter

No, I didnt have twins...but I do have them. Noah and I are officially at-home nannies to Miss Emily And Mr. William, who are the 13 week old twins of my dear friend Beth. My last official day at FCCJ was yesterday and I am now Supernanny. Noah and I had a trial run last week while I was on Spring Break and I was so pleasantly surprised how well we all did, babies slept, Noah slept, I got to spend oodles of time with him, and I am peaceful and confident. I am also going to be a teensie bit broke, but my husband is so happy I am happier and God is large and in charge.

Noah is amazing, he is talking and repeating things, he is saying Yes and No by nodding and Puts his hands up in the air for "I dont know" which melts my heart every time. He has been gentle with the babies and wants to hug and kiss them A LOT, he has snuggled up to the boppy when they are on there and he even rubbed bellies with William (it's Noah's weird greeting...thanks Daddy).

I dont know when it will hit me that i dont have to dress up anymore. That i dont have deadlines, meetings (except OA of course), or job stress. I am going to miss the students the most. I cried when I said goodbye to them. They have been my inspiration and my motivation for so many years. Now I am motivated by my need to 'mother' as a verb. I am in a nurturing mode and I am looking forward to focusing on my well being and that of my family. We can do without 'things' if it means we can have deeper and more meaningful relationships. This is a new season and I could not be more grateful!

It Freakin February

November was my last post !?!?!?!?!?!?

Holy Moley! There is too much to put in here to catch up so here is today... Noah is now blowing kisses goodbye to me when we get to daycare, no tears or drama (except from me in the car on the way to work wondering how my boy got so big). Brian got a big promotion so we are planning our future in new and exciting ways. We are looking for a new bigger place to live, hopefully we will fall in love with one this weekend. Kaeden and Yosie are fine and life moves too fast ;)
